Former Union Minister Vasant Sathe died

Congress veteran and former Union minister Vasant Sathe died on 23 September in Gurgaon. He took active part in the freedom movement and removed the British flag and unfurling the Indian tri-colour at the district court in Nagpur during the Quit India Movement.Sathe made his debut in the Lok Sabha from Akola in 1972 and later represented Wardha constituency from 1980 to 1991.
Born in Nashik and educated in Nagpur in Maharashtra, Sathe had authored several books like Memoirs of a rationalist - Biography,Restructuring of Public Sector in India ,Towards Social Revolution: A Case for Economic Democracy,National government : agenda for a new India ,Two Swords in One Scabbard: a Case for Presidential Form of Parliamentary Democracy,Tax Without Tears: For Economic Independence and National Integration.
